New Obsession.

Since Reed has been born, I have spent HOURS on Etsy looking at all the adorable crochet goodies people are selling and thinking that I REALLY need to try and teach myself how to make these things.

Well I have finally made my first hat. It's not perfect, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out! And as usual, I have made Reed model my new creation. I know that he will be on the move soon and not wanting to sit still for me when the camera comes out, so I'm totally taking advantage of these last few weeks of having an immobile baby. Time for pictures, Reedo. SMILE LIKE YOU MEAN IT!

I'm very excited about all the new crochet projects I have planned in my head!

Remember that blanket I started?

I finally finished it!! I started a baby blanket for Reed weeks ago, but it has been sitting on the back burner for a while since I've been spending all my crafting time making leggings for the shop! I added a satin binding and VOILA! Done!

It's not perfect, but I LOVE how it turned out. The fabric is from scraps left over from some projects I did in his nursery. And I'm pretty sure Reed loves it too, so that's a plus.

And yes, he's wearing Christmas jammies in February. And it looks like he's about to bust out of them, so I think we are going to have to finally retire them. It seems like we are constantly buying the next size up in clothing for him. We can't keep up!! My almost 8-month-old is now in 12-18 month clothing. WHERE DID MY BABY GO?? Someone has replaced him with a toddler! Our little man is super close to taking off and crawling so maybe he will slow down on the growing thing for a while. Oh, how time flies...

SUPER BOWL and a Giveaway!!

So today is the big day. SUPER BOWL SUNDAY!! I have to admit that I'm not the biggest football fan, but I thoroughly enjoy this day every year. The food. Getting together with family. The commercials. Doesn't get much better than that. And this year is a little more special since it's taking place in Indianapolis. I am super proud of my state. Everyone in charge of putting on the Superbowl and all the events that took place this past week in Indianapolis have done SUCH an amazing job. It makes me a little sad that we didn't get a chance to head down the Indy to enjoy any of the festivities. However, just the thought of going into all the chaos with a 7 month old gives me a panic attack. If we are ever lucky enough to get the Superbowl back in Indy again, we will head that way for sure to join in on the fun!

Chad has some money on the Patriots getting the victory, so naturally, I'm rooting for the Giants. GO GIANTS!!! ;)

And if you are a fan of Sweet Baby Sutton on Facebook, (which you should be...if you aren't, click the Facebook button above and GET ON IT!) you know there is an AWESOME giveaway going on that Sweet Baby Sutton is participating in.

My wonderful sister-in-law, Kristen, is the owner of Lilly B etsy shop, and she makes the cutest photo props and accessories for little girls. You MUST check out her shop. She just reached 1000 fans on Facebook (uhh AMAZING!) and decided to do a 1000 fan giveaway!! Check out her blog to get more details. I'm so lucky to be participating in this giveaway, and I totally wish I could enter to win! Sweet Baby Sutton will be giving the winner their choice of TWO items from the shop! So you should stop wasting time and go enter. The giveaway ends on Saturday, February 11th at 10:00 a.m.

And I will be restocking the Sweet Baby Sutton shop tomorrow, so watch out for that too!

Well that was easy...

Apparently, all I had to do was blast Reed's poor napping habits all over the internet, because now he's taking two 2+ hour naps a day...in his crib. I would be lying if I said I haven't thought about throwing him a party. I blame Pinterest.

On a more crafty note, I just love making baby leg warmers! I have added a few more pairs to the Sweet Baby Sutton shop, and I think they are pretty much the cutest things ever. If anyone tells you that boys shouldn't wear them, just show them this picture. Does it get much cuter than this?

This was taken a few months ago, before the Colts decided that winning games was overrated.

I'm still struggling with finding time to do anything other than try to keep this baby fed, clothed, clean, and happy, so my sewing machine has been getting very little love lately. I've needed to go to the store to pick up some supplies for the past few weeks, but it seems like there is just not enough time in the day! I have so many cute ideas in my head...

7 Months.

Reed turned 7 months old on Tuesday. I can't believe it's been 7 months since we became a family of three! It's hard to even think about what we did before Reed came along. He's hands-down the best entertainment ever. SUCH a little ham! He now enjoys sitting on the floor (unassisted!) surrounded by all his toys, chewing on anything and everything, eating anything but peas, and playing in the bath (and taking a leak on the bathroom floor afterwards...can't ever seem to get that diaper on quick enough). He hates taking naps (unless he's being held!), being on his tummy, and did I mention he hates taking naps? Holy crap, this kid hates taking naps. We're working on it.

Here's a conversation I had with him today...

"Say Mama!"
     "Dadadada."
"Mamamama!"
     "DADADADADA!"
"Oh come on! Say MAMA!"
     "BLAHBLAH! *giggles*"

Seriously. This kid is killin' me! Later in the day, he was on the floor playing with his toys, and I was checking my facebook folding laundry and I heard him whispering "dadadada..." to his toys. Chad is thrilled even though we know he's too young to associate "dada" with his dada. Reed says "Mamamamama" too, but it seems like that slips out only when he's pissed off. Real nice.

I take lots of pictures of our handsome boy. I post a LOT of pictures on facebook. I even annoy myself with all the face-time this baby gets on my facebook. Yep, I've become one of those moms that I always rolled my eyes at before becoming a mom myself. The biggest lesson I've learned in the last 7 months? Never say never.

Speaking of pictures...

And he's cutting his top middle teeth, which I think causes us to see THIS face a lot. It cracks me up every time.

And now I only have 5 months to plan his birthday party!!!

What day is it?

This week has been crazy at the Sutton house. Reed turned into a super fussy monster baby on Monday night and by Tuesday morning he had a pretty bad cough. On Thursday, he got a ear infection diagnosis from the pediatrician, and on Friday, he woke up with pink eye! Bad week for our little man. Needless to say, Reed and I have spent most of the week cuddling on the couch in our jammies. I'm pretty sure I've seen every episode of Kourtney & Kim Take New York about 5 times each. I'm also pretty sure I should be embarrassed by that, but I have no shame.

I did manage to get some baby leggings made for the shop, and I've started a baby blanket for Reed. I'm using the fabrics I used in his nursery and I'm loving it so far. I've made the front and back panel and hope to finish it by the end of the day. Here's my progress so far:

And it looks like someone is starting to feel better today! Just in time to enjoy the weekend!!

I've been busy!

I gave birth to one of the cutest baby boys last June (okay I'm a little biased I'm sure) and after the first few hazy weeks of being a first time mama, I had the idea that I should open up an etsy shop. Here we are, almost 7 months later and the shop is open!! So far, I've just made some quilted bibs and baby leggings but would love to add baby blankets and other goodies when I get some spare time.

Here's some of what you can expect to see in my shop and I will be adding more all the time.

If you like what you see, please share with your friends! I'm new to this, so if you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them!
